About the Founder
Hi, I’m Kate
I’m the founder and designer behind Olaia Design Co.
I’ve always been drawn to the details that shape an experience, how something looks, how it flows, how it makes someone feel, and whether it actually makes their life easier.
A lot of that comes from my background in hospitality and creative work. I spent years in environments where you learn very quickly that the smallest details matter. People may not always be able to tell you why something feels effortless, welcoming, or well thought out, but they know when it does.
That way of thinking eventually led me to web design.
What I love most about this work is taking everything a business owner has in their head: their services, ideas, personality, photos, plans, and years of experience, and finding a way to make it all make sense online.
I’m naturally someone who wants to organize the pieces, simplify what feels complicated, and figure out how everything connects. A website happens to be a pretty perfect place to do that.
Why I Started Olaia Design Co.
I created Olaia because I wanted to work more closely with small businesses and the people behind them.
There’s something really special about helping someone who has spent years building a business finally have a website that feels like it belongs to them, not something they threw together because they needed a URL, or something they’re slightly embarrassed to send people to.
I don’t expect my clients to know what pages they need, understand website platforms, or show up with perfectly written copy. That’s part of what I’m here for.
I want the process to feel collaborative and clear, without making the client take on another job just to get their website finished.
A Note on the Name
Olaia means “one who is well spoken, with many achievements.”
That meaning has always felt fitting for the kind of work I want to create: work that communicates clearly while respecting everything you’ve already built to get here.
From our first conversation through launch, the goal is to make the process feel organized, collaborative, and much easier than trying to piece it all together on your own.
